For the past 5 years, the family of Jon Waselewski has honored his memory through WazFest featuring talents of local musicians. Each year in March these musicians come together and celebrate the memory of Jon, a local musician himself, in what has become a substantial gathering of local talent and enthusiastic audience members.

This year, the Waselewski family has teamed up with Kingmusic, Inc. to sponsor a competition and showcase for younger singers and musicians with WAZFEST IDOL, a talent competition for students 16 years old and younger. We’re looking for instrumentalists as well as singers to compete. The competition will be set up in 2 separate Auditions on February 20th and 27th at Vito’s Pizzeria & Italian Kitchen in Bourbonnais. The Finals will be held during WazFest on Saturday, March 27th at the Kankakee County Fairgrounds Hall of Industry Building.
